WELCOME TO MAINE COON KITTEN CATTERY

HOME OF THE FINEST MAINE COONS

Welcome to Maine Coon Kitten Cattery

Our kittens are much more regarded as part of the family or fur kids! We are not in support of back yard breeding. We breed and raise our kittens in a home environment with lots of care, love and attention and cages/kennels are not used. Moms and babies upstairs with us and our kennel is sited in the basement. We also have 6 large separated rooms which gives our kittens a lot of space to run around, feel free and play with each other likewise, in the back of the house is an enclosed deck for the dogs.

Here are some tips for caring for your Maine Coon kitten:

Diet and Nutrition:

Feed your Maine Coon kitten a high-quality, protein-rich kitten formula or wet food to support their rapid growth. Provide small, frequent meals throughout the day.

Supplement their diet with omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids to promote healthy skin and coat development.

Always have fresh water available and consider a cat fountain to encourage hydration.

Grooming:

Brush your Maine Coon kitten regularly, at least 2-3 times per week, to prevent matting and hairballs. Use a slicker brush and metal comb.

Trim their nails every 2-4 weeks to keep them from becoming overgrown.

Bathe your kitten as needed, using a gentle, cat-safe shampoo.

Wipe their ears weekly with a damp cloth to remove any debris.

Playtime and Exercise:

Maine Coon kittens are highly active and playful. Provide plenty of interactive toys, scratching posts, and cat trees to keep them mentally and physically stimulated.

Engage in daily play sessions with your kitten to encourage exercise and bond with them.

Consider leash training or providing outdoor access (when they are old enough) to allow for more exploration.

Healthcare:

Schedule regular veterinary check-ups and vaccinations to ensure your kitten's health and wellness.

Discuss deworming, flea/tick prevention, and spaying/neutering with your vet.

Be attentive to any changes in your kitten's behavior or appearance and seek veterinary care promptly if you have any concerns.

Socialization and Training:

Expose your Maine Coon kitten to new people, animals, and environments in a positive, safe manner to help them develop into a well-adjusted, confident cat.

Start training early, using positive reinforcement techniques to teach them desirable behaviors.

Provide plenty of love, patience, and gentle guidance as your Maine Coon kitten grows and learns.

By following these care tips, you can help ensure your Maine Coon kitten grows into a healthy, happy, and well-adjusted feline companion.
